Mass Effect 2 Arrival

Before purchasing arrival I read alot of reviews that rated this a very mediocre DLC for Mass Effect 2, but since I'm a huge Mass Effect fan I still gave it go.

Arrival is all about stopping the reaper invasion. Dr. Kenson (the person we must rescue) is held captive in the bararian space and is being interrogated for presence on their territory. So automatically Shepard is nominated to be the hero because everybody knows Shepard is a bad mutha.

After the briefing of the mission Shepard heads to the planet Aratoht in search of Dr. Kenson. It isn't hard to navigate through the post, a couple buttons here, a few recording there and you finally found her. But- stroke the guards watching her and she's free, easy as making ramen noodles. Of course she's loose everyone is after us yada yada yada , she handles the controls, Shepard holds off the enemies, and we are finally out of there. That sounded a little to easy, but I knew the minute she radioed her people and said "Shepard was with her" that she was gonna' turn on me.

Back at Arcturus Station Dr. Kenson was to show me prove that the reapers were coming in two days , and that they had a plan to blow the Alpha Relay with an asteroid to stop the reapers from invading the galaxy, they called it "the project". After Shepard hears all the evidence yada yada, Kenson decides to be two-sided about the situation saying she wants to see the reapers come and it would be a good thing for her. I had the option to shoot her but since I'm trying to be a complete angel I didn't and now she ran off to neverland and I have to stop her. So we go through the shooting enemies, and obstacles just to get to the controls to launch "the project". Of course it happens and the Alpha Relay is no more. Only bad thing about it is all the batarians are blowed up with it. So should shepard receive praises or face some consequences... I guess we will see on Mass Effect 3.

This DLC was o.k. it wasn't the best there was no excitement to it, it was just a connection between 2 games. I felt Lair of the Shadowbroker was the best because hearing about this "shadowbroker" had alot of suspense. You keep thinking "who is this shadowbroker... I wanna go kick his ass just because I hear his name so much and don't know who he is". To infiltrate his lair and finally face and beat him , making liara the new shadowbroker was very intense... for me anyways. So anyone who is thinking of getting the arrival DLC don't look for a three course meal just look for an appetizer.

Dragon Age: Revisited

It's true after all the ranting and trash talking I did with Dragon Age I have decided to give Dragon Age for the pc another shot because I will not let this game defeat me... I WILL defeat IT.

The first time I started playing Dragon Age I started off as a rogue. Now usually when I play games that require you to choose a class I almost most of the time choose a warrior because I feel like its easier. At that time I chose a rogue and I thought it would be cool but there were some things I couldn't figure out like "backstabbing" and when to steal. Most of the time when I was using my duel weapons I would miss alot and I just wanted to pull my hair out...

Well this time I started over with a warrior and I feel really confident swinging around my two-handed sword. My favorite moves to do in battle is to knock them down and then use "mighty blow" to knock half their hp off (haha). But I can't give all the credit to myself I always keep Alstair at my side, a second warrior with his sword and shield (plus I don't want to be the only person getting beat on) and I keep one rogue (Leliana) and of course one mage (Wynne) and I have the perfect team.

So far so good I pretty much made it back to where I left off the first time and a little farther. If I happen to make it to the end with this game I will happily buy the "Awakening" expansions and maybe , maybe, maybe try Dragon Age 2. I played the Demo some time ago, and I wasn't too crazy about it... first it was because it took the whole day to download the demo and second..... it just didn't seem too exciting but I would give a go because I would like the see what happens in that series of Dragon Age.

Fallout New Vegas: The Review

Welcome to the Mojave Wasteland! I truly enjoy the fallout series and especially this one because of the different factions, and the consequences or rewards you get for betraying, or helping a group. Some of the major factions were:

After all my talk about trying to be bad in New Vegas I ended up siding with the good guys anyways. Is it sad that I still have a heart even if I'm playing a game. I was actually sorry that I got someone killed, and lured her so that they won't kill me (sad).

Ceasar's Legion the enemy (or good guys which ever you prefer). I was on their side and Mr Houses:
side for a while until I got a quest from these guys:
stating if I continue to help either of these that they will turn hostile towards me. This is the exciting part because it is endless possibilities of what could happen in the game, and there is also an option to go independent and kill everybody but I would never attempt that.

I loved some of the new weapons in the game including the "Oh Baby" upgraded Sledge:

I was knockin' everyone the *bleep* out with this one. I also liked how they narrowed down some of the skills for example leveling up guns means "all guns" and not separately leveling up: energy weapons, big guns, and small guns, that was so annoying.

The followers were awesome too. each person following you gives you a perk which can alter how you perform. My favorite follower of that whole game was Boone:

He always ALWAYS had my back shooting from a distance. When paired with Ed-E:

a robot that gives a higher perception, Boone is able to see enemies farther away that I can't see and snipe them. HOT DOG that was my team.

O-kay here comes the negative. First..... HOW BOUT THEM DEATHCLAWS!!!!

And I'm talking about the baby ones, I'm talking FULL-GROWN-TAKE-YOUR-HEAD-OFF. I couldn't even get to this area because the minute I waste all my energy killing 2 deathclaws, one comes silently behind me and swipes me in half (if anyone has a strategy for killing deathclaws please share).

Second, I couldn't understand all the ammo conversion. It's hard enough to know what ammo goes with what weapon, being, some are easy to remember like 10mm, 9mm, and such others.... not so much.

Lastly and MOST IMPORTANT..................................... THE GAME WAS FREEZING ON ME EVERY...... FREAKIN... TIME..... I.... PLAYED!!!!!!!!!! Not only that but it did it at least 5 times in one game sitting, and I was so excited to play PC version until all that.

But in conclusion I still love this game.

Also I have a funny story..well it might not be funny, but for those of you who played New Vegas all know that when you dismiss a follower he/she is to stay where you tell them to until you come get them again.. For half the game I didn't know where the heck Boone was, I thought it was a glitch in the game. Now tell me why, when I was traveling across the wasteland, I saw boone walking, and walking with a limp. I was thinking "Where the heck have you been" and " Is this dude going to fight the Legion by himself? I mean I know he hates them and he wants to kill them but I told him to stay in the dinosaur head."

Dragon Age Origins: It's a little better but I'm still pulling out my hair.

Things have gotten a little better with this game. Since my hubby played this on the ps3 he told me what I was doing wrong, here it is: The game pauses (if you click that option for it to do so) when you have entered battle and from there you choose how you want to play this battlefield. I didn't know I could click on other characters and choose their actions and most importantly who to attack because once a battle began everybody just attacks whomever and everybody dies off quickly. So once he told me that I was like "heeeey now i might enjoy this game....... halfway enjoyable.

There are still a few things that stress me out:

1. The lack of potions or poultices that a merchant sells- its so hard to contain a good amount of poultices because my character use them up so fast even though I set their tactics to (health < 25% use poultice). We are able to make our own poultices but you only find so much supplies when exploring, and it doesn't help that a merchant only sells 3 or 4 poultices and an infinite of everything else you don't need much of. I guess they expect you to make your own stuff, but to make better quality items you have to highly skilled in that area.

2. When in battle my characters "miss" so dang much it doesn't make sense- I understand you have to level up that certain attribute to improve that area but I hate it when I have 4 people fighting one enemy and they are down to a drop of life and they all miss like 7 times in a row, WTF SOMEBODY KILL IT ALREADY!

3. I hate that there is a recharge time on magic- so once you find a mage with a healing spell your like YEEEESSSS! but once you cast that spell there is a certain amount of time before it recharges so when someone else is dying your like hurry up, hurry up, hurry up I don't want to waste my poutice and BOOM your character is dead, son of a..........

4. I hate that you only get one point to level up a skill when there are so many- if your not highly skilled enough to pick a lock your out of luck, you can't get high quality items if your not skilled enough, you can't disarm traps or make any traps if your not skilled enough (geez what can I put this one point to )

Now I'm in this dream world where I'm by myself fighting off abominations and such, somehow I must save the others. I have a decent amount of poultices and I'm trying my best the make the most of my rogue abilities.

I like this game but it still stresses me out. I'm upgrading everything as I go and I'm trying to use the items I have to my ability. I stick with my "everybody attack the same person" strategy so enemies can go down faster, and I'm still pulling out my hair over battles. I have to take a days break playing this game or I might end up throwing my laptop across the street. Hopefully it gets better.

Dragon Age Origins: ???????

I love RPG's to death and I love Fantasy but I just can't seem to get into this game. I'm only at the beginning of this game and I am dying like mad....... I don't die early  in RPG's...... I don't think anyone else dies early in RPG's either.

You only have 3 classes to choose from (warrior, mage, or thief). I chose thief because I wanted to do something different, being the one in the background shooting arrows and crippling people with my shots. NOT!!! Half my arrows miss while everyone comes and attacks me, and the only healing available is my starter 4 potions. My other characters die super fast and it always leaves me, and if I happen to make it, my other characters come back to life instantly but they have conditions now (bleeding, head trauma, or whatever). I can't stand up close and fight because I have a bow and arrow.... WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO!? I have been giving this game chance after chance after chance for a week now and I am about ready to give up. It just sucks that I bought it for PC.

I did try to start over and I made a mage this time so I can have some healing magic....... that didn't even work. I had to go through some mage trial by myself and some lighting thing was attacking me. It was all good until it started running and found another buddy help with the ambush.... BASTARD!

The other thing I can't stand about this game is the excess blood on my characters:

look at the blood on that dog for killing some rats.... c'mon now.

I know its part of the game and you do have an option to turn it off (which I did) but is this really necessary? The blood only goes away after you change armor or start another fight.

Everything else about the game seems cool and it seems like I would like this game but I'm really starting to regret buying this game. I'll give it a couple more tries.

Mass Effect 2: The other stuff

Other than the different species of characters, weapons, there are the odds and ends of Mass Effect 2. A couple of things you have to do frequently in the game is hacking, and bypassing. Hacking looks alot like this:

At first it seems cool because you seem like some really smart tech person but after a few times it gets kind of annoying. First of all your timed and if you don't get it right or happen to land on one of the red x's then your locked out forever, so you will miss either some money or an upgrade, and you don't want to miss an upgrade. Bypassing looks like this:

This gets annoying too, its like playing but your being timed as well. The last of the "other stuff" is exploring the galaxy of course.

There are so many solar systems to explore to keep you busy in the game. The main reason to explore planets is to get your minerals for upgrades. Other reasons are to find extra missions which may have extra upgrades as well:

If you scan a planet to the "t" then you will get sooo bored easily, but once you get into it you'll find a way that is comfortable for you.

The last thing in the "other stuff" category is romance, and being a human you don't get many choices with other humans. If your character is a guy then you get 3 human options (1 female character you have to download). I hear some guys wish a girl like jack was real:

don't ask why. IF your a female you have 2 human options (1 male character you have to download, but I wouldn't bother because he looks like he's 50 years old.... unless you like 'em old). My character's love interest actually happens to be an alien but to me he's like a sexy alien.... yes the assassin Thane Krios:

You can flirt and fall in love, and maybe get them into your commander's quarters........ that's about it.

I already beat this game and I'm on my second time around  with the added bonuses and some downloadable content I bought online, that's just how great this game is. I'm so high off this game its like my drug, ask my hubby, he always tells me I should take a nap because I stay up late playing this game, and he see's how tired I look, I know he's right but I can't. Does anyone else feel me? What are your addicting games?

Mass Effect 2: My beginning

I started playing Mass Effect 2 last week and can I say I am so hooked that I haven't seen sunlight in days until yesterday. This action RPG is everything I love in a game. It has tons of missions, the ability to create the personality of your character, on top of creating your character (I just wish they had more character building options, like hair, clothes, etc). The main character of the game is named Shepard but Shepard can be male or female so you are able to give him/her a first name. Mya Shepard is my character

an infiltrator that specializes in Sniper Rifles, Sub-Machine guns, Heavy Pistols, and Heavy Weapons. There is the Soldier specialization class that specializes in almost every weapon  but since I always seem to choose that option for games I wanted to be different, besides I love using the sniper and giving enemies a shot to the head. You can choose whether your character is nice (paragon) or ruthless (renegade) you have the choice to make options during conversation when the option pops up, either one you choose you get points to get additional conversation option later. For example a reporter wanted to interview me but since she made me look bad last time I chose a renegade option and punched her in her face (no sissy hit either). I'm nice when I feel its the need but don't cross me. I will be quick to kill you.

Characters also have different powers they can use ( upgrade, and eventually evolve to a much stronger version)  while in battle. For my character she used disrupter ammo which does extra damage with shields and barriers, cryto ammo which freezes your enemies and when shot they break to pieces, a flame power (forgot the name already) which is my favorite it burns through the shields and barriers of enemies and when evolved it can hit multiiple targets or burn through anything it touches, AI hacking that lets you take control of an enemy mech and turn it against its allies, and my last power makes me invisible to enemies for  a certain period of time and increases my power.

The other cool thing I love is the different alien species there are so many, and they act too human. Tell me would you be interested in an alien stripper?

The Asari

Me and my  team about to break someone off
The graphics of this game is just out of this world. I think this is the best I ever seen graphics.

Along with everything else you recruit different people and can pick who you want to go on a mission with (unless its a loyalty mission). There is more to the game but I will save that for another post. This is only the beginning.

Guild Wars: OMG this is a hard mission

We've been on this mission for 3 hours to defeat Murakai, Lady of the Night who is supposed to be a hard boss knowing that she can wipe out an entire party with one move.

This is the Cathedral of flames, it is a three level dungeon with few charr (more dead), spirits, and enchanted weapons. We died I don't know how many times I lost count after 50. Now it is 9:09 p.m. and we are stuck defeating a sub-boss to get the key to the last boss, but with the amount of minions around her we could be up all night. I want to stay up and finish but I must rest so I can work out in the morning, but at the same time I don't want all this hard work to be in vain.... arrrrrrgh what to do!

Guild Wars: My Guild Wars Eye of the North adventure.... so far

No, I'm not playing World of Warcraft like everyone else. One reason being is we have to pay monthly and I already have so many monthly things coming out my bank account I can't keep up with. So I am playing Guild Wars... its free and its fun. Here are a list of my characters I have created since the time I bought this game in '05:

The character I'm playing with now is my Necromancer/Ritualist. I love having these two jobs because I can summon minions and spirits.

This is my Paragon/Warrior which I have gotten really far, actually to the end of the Nightfalls campaign. I haven't caught the grasp of being a paragon yet as far as making a good skill build, I'm lucky I made it that far.

Out of all the characters I have I say this is the hardest to play for some reason, Assassin/Ranger. I haven't played the Factions campaign in a minute and some of the builds I was trying to make are impossible because the elite skills I need are from other campaigns and that sucks..................

This is the first ever character I ever made when I started playing... (oh wait no it wasn't) but anyways, every time I start a game that has job classes I always pick a warrior I don't know why, I guess I like bashing enemies to let off some stress.

My last character is a Mesmer/Elementist. I really don't play with this character oftten in fact I'm at the very beginning with this character. I guess I'm just trying out different job classes to see what's the coolest job, and so far I like my Necromancer/Ritualist because summoning extra people is G-R-E-A-T, and if you do some of these missions you will see what I am saying.
